Aberdeen, Scotland

VISIT

One of the must visits is the beach, located a short distance from city centre! You can easily take a morning walk by the frontside and sat in pop-up cafes, go for a swim or watch other people exercise on the beach! There are also two lighthouses (Girdle Ness and Aberdeen North Pier) near the beach, when it´s windy and the sea is roaring, those are definetely worth to see!

The city is also known as Scotland´s oldest and most historical granite city. Buildings are constructed from local granite and you can experience those historical buildings (some are from Middle Ages) especially at the Old Aberdeen. Take a walk at that small beautiful area which is also the main campus for University of Aberdeen (founded 1495).

When you love golfing, you can combine city + golf vacation easily! There are so many golf (links) courses already near the centre.

Not forgetting all those castles near the area!

SHOPPING

Aberdeen´s main street is called Union Street but the best shopping you can do in Union Square Mall. In the mall you´ll also find dining places like for small bites (for example itsu eat beautiful).

Price level for food is a bit lower than in Finland (2025).
